TRIGGER GAP (17A)
The most accessible airstrip in the network. If your tires have never touched down on grass, this is a good first step. The pilot shelter and toilet make camping a bit more classy. The Nature Conservancy has generously allowed The Recreational Aviation Foundation [RAF] to build and maintain Trigger Gap Airfield on their land. Please be a good steward and representative of backcountry flying activities.
Here’s the pro tip on Trigger: Call Kings River Outfitter’s at 479-253-8954 to learn if it is a good time to float. If the answer is yes, they can pick you up from the strip and support a day float where you slay some smallmouth.
This airstrip doesn’t require you to call ahead for permission but please do not use this airfield as your next multiple landing training base. The neighbor to the NW is touchy about noise.
